Should you pre-order?
Frontier has a long track record of post-launch support (Planet Zoo 1 received years of DLC and free updates), but the general pre-order advice stands: there is no confirmed pre-order bonus announced on the Steam page as of this writing, so waiting for launch-day reviews costs you nothing.
If you know you will play day one regardless, wishlisting on Steam is the zero-risk move — you get notified at release and at any discount.
Console and Mac?
The Steam page lists Windows only. Frontier has not announced console or Mac versions as of this writing. Planet Zoo 1 also remained PC-only, so set expectations accordingly.
